La loi Duplomb face à une vague de contestation citoyenne inédite

Member of the "Cancer Colere" collective Fleur Breteau (4th L) reacts next to Mathilde Caillard known as "MC danse pour le climat" (2nd L) from the public gallery after the adoption of the 'Duplomb law' on agriculture which aims to reintroduce a pesticide for certain crops, at the National Assembly in Paris on July 8, 2025. More than a million people on July 20, 2025 had signed a petition urging the French government to ditch a law. The so-called "Duplomb law" has stirred public anger for permitting a return of acetamiprid -- a chemical known to be toxic to pollinators such as bees and to ecosystems. It was adopted on July 8 but has not yet come into effect. Guillaume BAPTISTE / AFP
